The base diameter is 15mm. The base has dual contacts only a single filament. One contact you apply a positive voltage and the other contact you apply a negative voltage. Up to 30,000 hours. Up to 3 Watts, Up to .25 amps @ 12 volts. The M.O.L. maximum overall length is 1.95". The M.O.D. maximum overall diameter is .79".

Too Bright on running light circuit

The 1156 bulbs are great for the back up lamps, and they also fit my trunk light. I had to file the base a little, wasnt right, but it went in and works great. Much much brighter.
The 1157 bulbs for the brake and turn signals are not good. The running light is so bright you can barely see the brakes make, and the turn signals are the same. Too many LEDs on the main circuit. I May try to identify which ones that is and snip some off. Not sure if that can be done.

These are bright all right. However, standard 1157 is 5w for tail light, 21w for brake/turn. In these, the tail light LEDs are so bright that the turn/brake signals get "Lost" and are hard to see when the tail light is on. It seems they used almost the same lumens for tail and brake functions. For Daylight use theyre great though.

I had been looking for an LED light to replace the old filament bulbs in my Air Stream travel trailer cabin without satisfactory success. I emailed LEDLight.com for recommendation and this unit was top of the list sent. It is at least as bright as the old bulbs and the soft white is very pleasant to the eye, not to mention that they are much cheaper than the store bought lights. I will be back.
