Hi all,
As the title states, I bought these LED based lamps to replace the halogens that came with my Fluval Edge aquarium. I initially bought the 6 LED lamps based on the lumens spec. However, they were not quite bright enough and I had one failure from water infiltration (on the 6 LED, not the 9 LED).
So, bottom line, the 9 LED lamps are perfectly bright ... not too bright, but bright enough to grow live plants ... which was my goal. The spectrum is a very nice sunlight approximation, and as I say, the plants in my FRESHWATER aquarium are thriving.
I would highly recommend these as a replacement to the yellow looking halogens for a freshwater aquarium.
