The MR16 uses a GU5.3 Base. Comparable to a 25 to 35 Watt incandescent light bulb. Is GU5.3 same as GX5.3 yes. Since the MR16 uses only 3 Watts saves so much heat generation by the old incandescents. There is no multi faceted reflector the beam is controlled by the led viewing angle. Why do old power supplies not work with led mr16's?
