Needs a switch built into it.

Yes
Like the clip light, Id give it 5 stars if it came with a switch built into it. The mounting base screw needs replacing with a constant pressure bearing one. Good light otherwise, good pattern and color. Seems to be well made. We have used a number of them of both styles inside sailboats we have had in re-fit. (Updated on 8/10/2012.)

I have use two of the similar clip on lights. I would certainly buy some of these lights if they had a switch in them. They really need that, otherwise they are perfect.
