Wanted to replace the 1176 S1 (25watt) bulbs used as headlights in our garden tractor in order to get more light for night-time work in fall and winter. These (5watt) Q5 S25 CREE LEDs are the brightest out there and worked very well. CREEs are expensive but worth every penny. They have a wide voltage range allowing them to continue lighting in low voltage conditions as when the tractor engine is near idle. We needed more light and had actually added 3 more sockets maxing-out the power furnished from the alternator so switching to LEDs got the power usage way down allowing us to get lots of light with only two CREE Q5s.
