Great, but too tall

I have bought 4 of these bulbs. They work great. The only problem is that they are too tall for most of my lamps. I have used 3 of them in my dinette light fixture where they look far better than the CFLs that were there. I look forward to brighter more compact versions going forward.

Great for pathways

Yes
This is great for areas of the home that require something brighter than a nightlight or on a outside pathway.
It is currently on the pathway to the house with the ground covered with snow.
Since this is not a warm white light, it will look out-of-place on the outside of a home.
It is a 66 lumens per watt light. I would not buy anything less than 50 lumens per watt.

This one is right on the threshold of acceptable light output. I used 4 of this type bulb in a ceiling fan of a small bedroom. The light output is adquate but I am used to four bulbs being a little brighter.
I would not use this as a single bulb. Best in multiple bulb fixtures.
