These bulbs are a nice way to update older halogen bulb torchiere floor lamps. I had no problems installing the bulb in my lamp, although I did have to leave off the old glass protective cover that fit over the halogen bulb. My lamp had a two-voltage-level switch originally, and at the lower setting, this bulb would strobe pretty badly. A quick trip to the hardware store and 20 minutes of labor later, a new on/off only switch remedied this problem. I love that I can now have the warmer color light of the old incandescent bulbs with the new low electricity usage of a LED bulb. Would buy more, if I had other lamps.

Grateful to find this option for a T3 R7 base halogen bulb that sucked 10 times the power. I have searched in vain for at least a year. This bulb didnt work out for me because the light was too garish (my fault, should have ordered warmer version) and because all the light is directed forward which made for intense brightness that I was considering a diffuser sheet to correct. Luckily, LEDlight.com excellent customer service pointed me to yet another bulb they just started stocking that has elements all around. That helps because the brightness is more reflected and spread out. I ordered that bulb in the warmer version and it is perfect. This bulb may be perfect for you, just wasnt optimal in my situation.

Since this array is so much bulkier than the lamp that it replaces, it was a moderate challenge to install. Now that it is operational, Im very happy. It puts out plenty of light, especially considering the tiny amount of current it uses.
